Jalalabad Association is a social and cultural organization;
meeting place of the scores of Sylheti people residing in Dhaka;
a symbol of unity. Jalalabad is a flourished land of north-eastern
Bangladesh, consisting four districts-Sunamganj, Habiganj, Moulvibazar and Sylhet,
surrounded by river Surma, Kushiara, Manu and Khowai. Jalalabad Associatio is the
organization from the non-resident population from this land.Our main goal is to
proceed towards overall development and progress of Sylhet Division alongwith national
triumph. Since its inception in 1948, Jalalabad Association, Dhaka has been working relentlessly.
Association is expanding its development and benevolent activities through associate organizations
like Jalalabad Education Trust, Jalalabad Mansion Trust and Jalalabad Welfare Trust.
Sylhet (Historically Srihatta; also Jalalabad) is the capital of Sylhet District
and Sylhet Division in Bangladesh.
It lies on the banks of the Surma River in north-east Bangladesh.
Sunamganj is located in the Sylhet Division
with the Sylhet District to its east, Habiganj District to
its south and Netrokona District to its west.
Habiganj is a district in the north-eastern part of Bangladesh.
Habiganj was part of the state of Nasirabad, which was established by Sipahisalar Syed Nasiruddin with its capital at Taraf.
At present, it is a district of Sylhet Division.
Moulvibazar is in Sylhet, a district to the North-East of Bangladesh.
It is surrounded
by Sylhet District in the north, Habiganj District in the west and Indian
States of Assam and Tripura in the east and south respectively.[
